Event - Scientific meeting
UK
This one-day teaching event will bring together our past Teaching Excellence Award winners to exchange their cutting-edge ideas, network with educators across all career stages and inspire the future of higher education. This meeting aims encourage established educators and lecturers at the beginning of their careers to build a community of peers from across the UK higher education sector.
Event - Sponsored event
Join early career scientists in Glasgow at the 4th FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE International Molecular Biosciences PhD and Postdoc Conference “Bridging Minds: Interdisciplinary Research for the Future of Life Sciences” to explore how interdisciplinary research has reshaped investigation in life sciences.
Event - Webinar
Online
In this immunology focused webinar, Dr Roger Geiger from the IRB (Switzerland) will present an overview of his lab’s research on immune responses to tumours using systems biology approaches.
Event - Online training
R for Biochemists 101 is the Biochemical Society’s original R course, aimed to equip researchers with the information, tools and techniques to use R. It is suited to beginners who want to use this programming software but have little or no experience.
The Plant Peptide Receptor Meeting 2025 (PPRM2025) aims to bring together researchers from around the world to explore the latest discoveries in plant immune and developmental signalling. The meeting has a strong tradition of fostering collaboration and providing an open platform for sharing the latest advances in plant receptor, peptide, and signalling research.
The EMBO Workshop on Ribosome Synthesis will bring together approximately 200 biomedical researchers to share their latest investigations on how the cellular protein factories called ribosomes are assembled. Participants will explore new strategies to target the process of ribosome synthesis to develop novel therapeutics for cancer, bacterial infection and inherited diseases.
This meeting on Lipidation will unite basic scientists, clinical researchers, leading investigators, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students to exchange ideas and advancements in this rapidly evolving field.
The meeting “Eukaryotic RNA turnover: from fundamentals to applications” will showcase recent developments in the field of RNA stability and is the tenth in this conference series. The meeting will cover a broad range of topics, including structural biology of large molecular complexes, interplay of translation and RNA decay, analyses of RNA binding proteins and cellular pathways driving RNA degradation, mechanisms of microRNA and long non-coding RNA turnover, new technologies and design of RNA therapeutics.
Drawing on the themes of the UK government’s latest AMR National Action Plan, we will be revisiting this crucial topic to explore what it will take for action on AMR to be effective.
This meeting will aim to bring together researchers within the fields of biochemistry, genome biology, biotechnology, biophysics, and molecular biology with a specific interest in the study of alternative multistranded nucleic structures. It will enable a discussion of the current state of the art, development of novel ideas and research collaborations, and a sharing of ideas to help further develop the field towards addressing some of the most important questions in biology today.
The 30th Translation UK meeting will showcase the latest progress of the diverse UK mRNA translation field.
Event - In-person training
This two-day training course, hosted at the University of Bedfordshire’s STEM Building, aims to expose participants to the latest hardware required for protein purification and biophysical measurements. Attendees will gain hands-on experience of cell lysis using the CF1 cell disrupter from Constant Systems; protein purification using AKTA systems and Unicorn software; the analysis of protein – ligand interactions using the NanoTemper Monolith and the new multi wavelength Beckman Coulter Life Sciences Optima analytical ultracentrifuge (AUC). Short lectures will provide background theory on the techniques used.
