6th Workshop on Membrane Proteins
In-person training
14 Apr 2025 - 16 Apr 2025
UK
The 6th UK Workshop on Membrane Proteins will focus on the function of biological membranes and the biophysical techniques available to study their components in the context of biology and biotechnology. This event will comprise lectures, workshops, and laboratory based practical sessions.
Key learning objectives
- To understand the basics of membrane protein purification using cutting edge methods.
- To be able to describe the principles and applications of biophysical approaches to studying membrane proteins.
- To be able to undertake practical activities to understand membrane proteins.
Prerequisites
Attendees should have a basic grasp of membrane protein structure and function and protein biochemistry more widely. No practical experience is required, although some lab experience would be beneficial. The practical elements will focus on the use of polymers to extract membrane proteins without the need for classical detergents.
Location: Aston University, UK
