ACCSN partnership

News, Jun 20 2024

We’re excited to announce our new partnership with the Afro-Caribbean Commercial Science Network (ACCSN) who are the first professional network dedicated to raising the black and ethnic representation in the commercial and broader life science industry.

The ACCSN was formed to support the development of aspiring and current professionals in the industry to make the commercial route more attractive for black and ethnic minorities, ultimately raising the representation whilst providing a space through which they can thrive together. The ACCSN works with a diverse pool of aspiring and current professionals, corporate sponsors, partners, and educational institutions to bring about this mission and we are proud to become a part of that.

The Biochemical Society is committed to placing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) considerations at the heart of all our activities. Our partnership with ACCSN will help to further this by providing funds to support graduate recruitment, education for scientists on a career in commercial science, supporting companies with starting successful employee resource groups, mentorship, and other activities vital to the work ACCSN undertake.

“It is an honour to have the Biochemical Society join as a Partner. This demonstrates real support and dedication from the top down. The Biochemical Society has made notable strides in improving diversity and inclusion within their organisation. Partnering with ACCSN will solidify their position and reinforce a racially inclusive environment, both within their organisation and the wider commercial and life science industry. ACCSN is excited about this partnership and looks forward to collectively driving change in the commercial and broader life science industry."
