The Society is committed to bringing together molecular bioscientists, supporting our members across the community including those working in the industrial, biotechnology and academic drug discovery sectors, providing a platform for collaboration, facilitating innovation and supporting links between academia and industry.

In the future- Professional Registration

We intend to support scientists and those working in technical roles through the introduction of Professional Registration for members through the Science Council and the Royal Society of Biology. Professional registration demonstrates that you are committed to professional standards, and to developing and enhancing your competence.

Sign up here to keep up to date on Professional Registration progress.

Join Us

Be part of our international network of molecular bioscientists and support the future of the molecular bioscience community. Access a range of grants and bursaries to support your travel and research. Plus, receive up to £100 discount on registration fees at our conferences and events.

Become a Local Ambassador

Local Ambassadors are the first point of contact for the Society at their company and you can make sure the interests of your colleagues and sector are heard at the Society. Learn more below and have your say.

Shape the future of the Society

Influence our initiatives, including those for molecular bioscientists working in industry, by joining one of the Society’s committees or Theme Panels.

Write for The Biochemist

Contribute to ensuring that the Society’s magazine continues to be the best way to keep up with news and views on issues of relevance to the whole molecular bioscience community and enhance your profile by writing an article, suggesting candidates for interview, or why not write for the Society’s blog?

Attend our Training Events

Our training events allow participants to gain hands-on experience in key areas of molecular bioscience, and provide the opportunity to ask questions and discuss problems with experts across industry and academia.  If you’ve got an idea for training event we would love to hear from you.

Promote your molecular bioscience jobs on our Job Board.

You can advertise permanent or temporary roles for early career or established professionals, including PhD studentships.

Make a nomination for the Industry and Academic Collaboration Award

This award recognizes an outstanding individual who has made an inspirational contribution to the biosciences and to industry–academia interactions.

Sign-up for Portland Press journal alerts

Portland Press, the knowledge hub for life sciences, is wholly-owned by the Biochemical Society and is dedicated to promoting and sharing internationally-recognized quality life science research. Sign up for contents alerts, or contact us to discuss subscriptions, reprints purchase and Open Access publishing options

Get involved with our policy work

Be part of addressing key policy issues and identifying priority areas for the molecular bioscience community in industry and commerce. A current area of focus for us is the changing drug discovery landscape, working collaboratively as part of the cross-learned Society collective Drug Discovery Pathways Group.
