International Associate Membership
The Society has International Associate Membership agreements with a number of societies outside the UK. The benefits of each agreement are based around areas of mutual interest to the Biochemical Society and the specific partnering society.
International Local Ambassadors
International Local Ambassadors are a key group of members that are the first point of contact for the Society in their home countries.
We also have international links with a number of societies, those of which are listed below.
FEBS promotes, encourages and supports biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, molecular biophysics and related research areas throughout Europe. Membership of the Biochemical Society may entitle you to apply for FEBS Fellowships FEBS Youth Travel Fund grants for FEBS Advanced Courses, and support for participation in the FEBS Congress and precedingFEBS Young Scientists’ Forum.

The IUBMB is devoted to promoting research and education in biochemistry and molecular biology throughout the world. The Biochemical Society is one of its 77 Adhering Bodies and actively participates in its activities.
Apply today for a grant to attend IUBMB’s Young Scientist Program. As a member of the Biochemical Society you are eligible for this grant from the IUBMB.
The FAOBMB is one of 4 regional groupings of the IUBMB.
FAOBMB aims to work with its constituent members and the IUBMB to advance research, teaching and applications of biochemistry and molecular biology particularly in the Asia – Pacific region.
