It is with great sadness that the Biochemical Society notes the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

We recognise the tremendous contributions the Queen made during her reign, both to the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and to wider global society. Her leadership and steadfastness in the face of adversity provided a great source of inspiration to the nation for many years, and it is without doubt that the principles and achievements of her reign will be felt long into the future.

We send our condolences to the Royal Family at this time.
